As some of you know I have a very profund interest for education. Not just because I love to teach but because I love teaching. And also because I know that it is a very important issue for everybody.
At mornings, I work as researcher on this field studying its connection with digital culture. And because of that I have the privilege to work with great minds from different disciplines.
Today, I want to show you a talk by Sir Ken Robinson, one of the most important academics talking about how we should re-think education.
TED conferences have the slogan: "Ideas Worth Spreading" "Ideas that Change the World" and one of the most important quotes of this talk is :
"If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original"

I find interesting is the vision that Mr. Ken Robinson, as expressed and as concerned with improving education, as he mentions that education has been reformed, but not transformed. No calls requiring less at school, but to school: it should focus on identifying and enhancing the unique talents of each.
I like when he says that all people have potential, because being creative is not a gift that some have chosen, is what makes us human. If you are a person, you are creative. And you learn to be more creative as you learn to read. It is an innate power that we all develop.
We also find in his speech from a philosophical perspective, references such as: Wittgenstein "when he says that if you are not willing to be wrong never attain something original", Nietzsche "when referring to the relationship between the child, creativity and the artist", Schopenhauer "when he criticizes the image of "university professor", Marx "when critical one-sided view of human capacities"
Surely my colleagues find other relationships, not just philosophical. : )

Really I had to whatch the video with subtitles because I understood more little. I found very interesting the creative topic and the example of the girl in the art class.
I agree with Mr. Robinson because everything changes and earlier education was different but now must be linked it with the present and we all know that today's children are special, more restless, more intelligent, more sagacious.

I totally agree with Mr. Sir Ken Robinson, and provide good ideas for change in the world, on the other hand, at the thought of being wrong often in a social sphere, is not well seen from a more general perspective within individuals as morally destrute criticism because human beings are not made for this.
I think that Mr. robinsosn is right when he says that faculty walk the halls of the university but their minds are elsewhere and certainly their bodies just take their heads. We must study and learn every day more but when we practice our skills and show our work, our work will be different for our creativity and heart to do things, we must be passionate and that our work will make special.

In my manner to see education in Colombia,is something conservative and only we dedicate us to follow some rules that the office of education they impart.

Hello, I think that he´s rigth, the people has forgotten the meaning to be human and all the things that has happened through the years has become us in a "robotic thing" that only thinks in money and status. I think that the education system must to have a huge revolution, as Sir Robinson said the education as we know today it hasn't change since a lot years and is necessary that the form of education is adapted to new requirements of the world.
Also is important that the schools promote the creative in the children, because is in the school when the child learn and acquire a lots of tools and abilities for his future. Teachers should try to make that children find their talents and prepare them for in the future they can make what really they love.

In my opinion this video reflects the reality of the world because we think we are more than others. But we do not know the treasures that keep people inside and therefore mistreat them with indifference. I remember my father's words "every person is gold never treats her too differently."
