As you all know we did a reading exercise this week comparing two versions of the same song.
The song "I am Feeling Good" has more than 30 versions since it was originally composed in 1965. In class we listened to Nina Simone's version from 1965 and the version done by Muse in 2001 and we completed the lyrics.
Now, I want to invite you to share your opinions, some of you already did a composition exercise so you can use those ideas. For the rest of you remember that questions are:
1) Which version do you prefer: Nina Simone's version, Muse's version, both versions? and Why?
2) There are 44 years of difference between the two versions. What emotions can you find in them? Are they the same song or are they different and how?

original version is best, because reveal the feeling of a woman rejected by her color, but fortunate to have a beautiful voice.
This version is an demonstration of the fall of racism. Also the lyrics of this song reminds freedom and how important is it.
MUSE version is interesting and a way to remember to Nina, but I prefer a thousand times the original version.

I prefer the Muse's version because they are a great rock band.I like the music that they make and I listen it in free times.
Both versions are sentimentals and melancholics.They are the same songs, the difference is that Muse's version is rock acoustic and Nina Simone's version is a jazz style. However, the meaning of the songs is positive and the lyrics are nice.

I like more the version of muse
that the man who sings one of my favorite singers and rock music is my favorite too.
the two songs to which are the same if they have differences with the way each interprets and style of music that everyone uses.
I evokes emotion of sadness by the tone that handle the two songs.
but in my opinion the muse version is very good, the man sings delicious but I will not deny that the girl version of me that is like a jazz style.

I liked the version of Muse, it is a little more prepared and it seems MTV Unplugged, more modern than that of Nina.
Regarding the differences between the two emotions is totally different, Nina is melancholy and Muse is energetic.
The lyrics of the song is the same, the difference is in the style and musical components, as the Muse shares with more vocals and modern instruments.

Personally to me like much but the version of Nina Simone, because the lyrics are much clearer and easier to understand, unlike the other.
On the other hand, in the two versions are very different, because the instruments are playing to this song.
However, in the version of Nina Simone is much more quiet, relaxing, unlike the Muse version is a little more active.

With respect the emotions of that two versions, I can tell that the Nina Simone version inspires me a time of sadness and at any moment I can fell how, progressively, the felling of stay "good" fill my soul and I start to think about all the things that she describe in her song and I start to "Felling Good".
The Muse version inspires me more good emotions because the song performance by this group its more fast and had more energy that Nina Simone Version, with the Muse version I start to felling good from the beginning.

1) I like both versions because the singers shows the same feeling and also it sounds good. Obviously the rhythm is different but I think the performance of both artist are so good.
2) I think the rhythm is the only difference between the both versions, If you listen the versions will feel the same, in my case I think that song is melancholic.

i like the muse version, because I think that the philharmonic versions is heard over the letter and disclosed more to is being said.
it was the same letter but different rates, susch as a child is more a rock style. while the muse is more romantic pace.
furthemore,this letter is to highlight for the love of nature, and nescafe commercial was a success and we have seen that several composer have been interested in her for that lovely melody that brings.
differences are the most beautiful muse is the rhythm. I think we played well the heart is touched with philharmonic instruments while the other is a heavier rate.

Both versions are good but I prefer the original, the voice of Nina is great and I think that gives a special sound with so much feeling. Both songs brings different emotions, the original is more melancholy and the rock version feels with a bit of rage in comparation with the blues sound of the Nina’s version.

The simone`s version is very soft and the only thing accomplished is to awaken calm in the way it handles the rhythm of the song is very even and always runs a very soft tone.the muse`s version is very good because he plays very different otherwise the making song awakening in me agreat emotion for the strumming of the guitar and heavy drums to drive, also manages to change soft sounds and loud sounds which generates in a way the sympathy of the song.
I like the Muse version, because it has instruments like the violin and drums, is a more current version.
It's a hit song, so I think they made so many versions and after so long.

I liked both versions, since Nina Somone´s version is the original and in her voice the song is beautiful. On the other hand the Muse´s versions although is actual, have some goods arrangements and the symphonic band accompanies that it gives an only touch. Although these version are of differents ages, but both versions achieve to capture the song the essence.

I like so much this band of Muse and although his genere is inspired by the music of Nina Simone but I still like more the alternative version of Muse this is more lively and with a touch rocker sounds better.

hello all, the version that I liked most is the muse, it is more modern and all instrumental supplements is phenomenal.
I always liked hearing the songs live because they move so more emotion, the violins take me back and relax me, it nicely complements battery is an excellent version.
although the two songs have the same letter, if they have their difference in their instrumental arrangements

Let's start by saying that the original song is a classic awesome music, I'm a big fan of nina simone, has a song that I can say is my favorite, soundtrack thomas crown case called Sinnerman, as to the versions I mean I'm not a lover of the covers, always the best song is the original.
The difference is very large, the implementation of technology is evident in the sounds, before the music was more pure, more refined sound of the voice and instruments.
